BASIC NITROX DIVER This program is designed to train divers in the safe use of Enriched Air Nitrox (EANX) for recreational diving. The focus of training is on the procedures for, and benefits and hazards of using Nitrox mixes from 21 - 40% Course Duration: - 2 Days Prerequisites: - Open Water Diver - Minimum 15 years old Course Requirements: - Classroom Lectures and Critiques - 2 Nitrox Dives - Exam Equipment required: - Full Open Water dive equipment - O2 Analyserr Recommended Texts: - EANX Student Manual NOTE: Students must provide standard open water dive gear. The program employs EANX mixes from 21% to a maximum of 50%. It is recommended that this course is taught in conjunction with the Deep / Decompression Diver course. Trimix affords a means of reducing narcosis on dives at these depths with EANX and O2 utilized as decompression gases. One or more suitably rigged Stage / Deco Tanks as required. Each Stage / Deco Reg to be in O2 Service with a single 2nd stage on a 32" LP hose and an SPG on a 6" HP Hose. Primary light If Required: Umbilical light and battery canister with 35 - 50w light head. 1 Backup light (UK SL4's or similar) 2 small cutting devices (no leg mounted knives) 2 Line Reels 50lb Lift Bag or Delayed SMB Slate & Pencil Instrumentation: Primary and Backup Depth Gauges, Timing Devices and Tables or 2 Appropriate Decompression Computers. O2 Analyser Note: It is advisable that you bring as much of this equipment with you as is possible (less tanks and weights of course). That way you will be using equipment you are familiar with and get the opportunity to fine-tune it for your specific application. Anything on this list you do not have can be provided at no extra charge.
